Success story from reader Jonathan Hall

Longtime list member and private coaching grad Jonathan Hall replied to my recent message about asymmetric intimacy with a success story that demonstrates the power of podcasting (shared with permission):

What a timely post.

Just yesterday I had my third 1-on-1 consulting call ever (and the first was less than a month ago). This was the second person who found me via my podcast. And it was honestly a bit of a funny feeling. Literally, the first thing the client said as an introduction was “I know you, but you don’t know me.”

I’ve only released 21 podcast episodes, but already it’s having a tangible payoff in the way people perceive me as an authority in my space.

If you’re looking for a way to differentiate yourself from your competition, podcasting is a great way to position yourself as “the one and only” choice for the kind of clients you’d most like to work with.

Sure, it takes a little time to before your efforts start to pay off, but I can promise you this:

Chatting with smart guests on your podcast every week is a lot more fun than staring blankly at Google Analytics for hours on end trying to guess how to please the algorithm gods.

Your choice.

Yours,

—J

P.S. I’ve got good news for you: If you can run a Zoom call, you can host a podcast.

In the 5-Day Podcast Challenge, you will learn exactly what to do (and NOT do) to get your podcast off the ground in as little as five days.

The next session of 5DPC starts on Monday (December 6th). Registration closes tonight at 11:59pm ET so time is running out.

Stop thinking and start doing. You could be inviting guests to your new show this coming Friday!

I hope to see (and hear) you there :-)

P.P.S. Don’t worry if you are going to be on vacation or already have a bunch of commitments scheduled. There is no such thing as falling behind in 5DPC.

The course is designed so that you can participate daily, but you don’t have to be there every day. Each weekday, I’ll publish a lesson. But if you prefer to go at your own pace, that’s completely fine too. The Slack will be open for a full month after the final day of the course.

I don’t know when I will be running 5DPC again. Now is your chance to start sharing your voice.
