What if your leads totally trusted you before you even met?
Podcasting is an almost magical way for self-employed folks to grow their business (e.g., developers, designers, writers, photographers, illustrators, accountants, lawyers, etc.).
Why is this?
Because podcasting creates a kind of “asymmetric intimacy” with your listeners - i.e., you don’t know them at all but they feel like they know you.
I have personally observed this phenomenon as both a host and a listener, but you don’t have to take my word for it... there is scientific evidence to back it up.
The bottom line is this:
Regular exposure to a podcast host creates friendship and intimacy with people in the audience.
And guess what?
People buy from people they know, like, and trust!
So why doesn’t every business owner start a podcast?
Here are some common objections:
- “I hate the sound of my own voice”
- “I wouldn’t know what to talk about”
- “It seems really complicated”
- “I haven’t got the time to devote to it”
- “I have no idea how to get started”
It bums me out to hear these sorts of things because none of them should really hold you back. Podcasting has been really good to me. I’ve been doing it for a long time and I love it.
If you’ve ever thought about starting a podcast but gave up, I invite you to join me this coming Monday for my 5-Day Podcasting Challenge.
Who is 5DPC for?
5DPC is for self-employed professionals who make money selling their expertise and don’t have a lot of time or energy for marketing their business. 5DPC might be for you if you would like to:
- Build trust with your potential buyers
- Differentiate yourself from your competitors
- Increase awareness of your products and services
- Connect with luminaries in your industry
What is 5DPC?
5DPC is an interactive online workshop designed to take you from zero to podcast in just five days. You will work with me and a cohort of your peers through five lessons released daily:
- Mon: Designing Your Show
- Tue: Choosing Your Hardware
- Wed: Choosing Your Software
- Thu: Testing Your Setup
- Fri: Inviting Your Guests
By the time you’re done, you’ll have your show defined, your gear assembled, your podcast website up, and you’ll be sending out invites to potential guests.
How is this possible?
Is five days enough time to start an amazing podcast? Nope, and that’s 100% on purpose. The only way to create an amazing podcast is to start a pretty good podcast and then improve it over time.
5DPC is specifically designed to smash through any procrastination or perfectionist tendencies and actually get your show off the ground. If you can run a Zoom call, you can host a podcast.
Where does 5DPC take place?
5DPC takes place online in a private Slack room that has been structured and customized to maximize engagement with the material and the community.
You can easily watch the lessons and participate in the discussion asynchronously from anywhere using your phone, tablet, or laptop/desktop.
When is 5DPC?
The next session of 5DPC starts Monday, December 14th. Registration closes Saturday, December 12th at 11:59pm ET.
NOTE: Don’t worry if you are going to be on vacation or already have a bunch of commitments scheduled. There is no such thing as falling behind in 5DPC.
The course is designed so that you can participate daily, but you don’t have to. If you prefer to go at your own pace, that’s completely fine. The Slack will be open for a full month after the final day of the course.
How much is 5DPC?
There are podcasting courses available online from as high as $2,675 for podcast audio engineering training, all the way on down to free self-paced video courses on Udemy and the like.
But 5DPC is NOT a self-paced video course that you buy and have to go through on your own (if you ever get around to going through it at all).
Rather, 5DPC is an asynchronous group experience specifically designed to keep you engaged and accountable. Plus, I’ll be on hand all week to help you get unstuck and stay on track.
The price for 5DPC is $245, which includes the following bonuses:
- Booking Template
- Standard Guest Invite Template
- VIP Guest Invite Template
- Interview Checklist
- Podcast Intro and Outro Scripts
- Social Media Sharing Tactics
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you find that 5DPC hasn’t met your expectations, simply drop me a note after you’ve participated in all the lessons and I’ll refund your entire tuition.
I’ve run loads of peer-based workshops and have found that when students contribute, they get back far more than they put into it.
Sometimes life gets in the way. If you need to withdraw before you complete 5DPC, I’m happy to defer you to a future session at no cost. Just ask.
To be fair to all, I don’t offer refunds for non-participation.
Questions?
If you still have questions, just hit reply and ask. I hope you see (and hear) you soon!
Yours,
—J
