Give me a price!
Another “permanent resident” of Ditcherville replied to my last message with his anecdotes, both positive and negative:
Had a similar story and a contrast.
Example one: Had potential legal issues with a maximum potential risk to me of ~ 10k. Lawyer got on it and ended up billing me $9k. If I had known that beforehand, I wouldn’t have bothered. Especially since their final verdict was, “Let’s just leave it and see if anything comes of it”.
Example two: Had a potential tax issue costing me $10k. CPA said, “For $600 we’ll do our best to make it go away”. Instant nobrainer, and they did make it go away.
That $9k lawyer example is BRUTAL, right? How would you have felt in the same situation?
And the $600 CPA example? You’d have been delighted, I imagine.
Here’s the thing...
People don’t like making purchase decisions without knowing the price!
You hate it.
Your clients hate it.
Don’t leave them guessing.
Give them a price.
Yours,
—J
