Happy Valentine’s Day
Did you buy a Valentine’s Day card today?
As you were deciding to buy it, did you calculate:
- How many hours were spent making the card?
- How much the cardstock cost the manufacturer?
- How much margin the shop owner tacked on?
I’ll bet you didn’t wonder about any of these things.
Instead, you decided that the card was worth the price based on a bunch of factors that were internal to you and your situation, NOT internal to the people who designed, manufactured, shipped, and sold the card.
Here’s the thing...
A price is either “worth it” to a buyer or not.
The seller’s costs are irrelevant to the buyer when it comes to making a purchase decision.
Which is why it’s silly to base a price on how many hours you think something will take.
Yours,
