Success story from reader Vikram Shetty

Longtime list member and lead-gen advisor to DEI professionals, Vikram Shetty responded to a recent message about niching down to share an additional benefit (shared with permission, lightly edited for clarity):

Another side effect of niching down is that people who are passionate about your niche may offer to support you by making introductions.

I recently got this message:

Hello Vikram!

Likewise, I appreciate your insight. It would be great to connect. I wouldn’t say that I am a DEI consultant but I do very much incorporate those elements into the framework of my work and business. I’m really interested to hear what you do for work as well.

I’m happy to connect more virtually if you’d like. Here is a link if there is a time that works for you!

I had a call out of curiosity. I remember you saying other people would connect outside your niche. I didn’t pitch her anything in the call.

But now she wants to introduce me to someone who runs a podcast in my niche, and I can talk about my white paper and how I can help my niche.

I thought the group may find this useful

Regards,

Vikram

Yup, it’s true.

When you make it crystal clear who you help, it gives “friendlies” the information they need to connect you with your ideal buyers.

It’s great!

Thanks to Vik for sharing his experience :-)

Yours,

—J
