What was your first job?
Tomorrow at 1pm ET, I’m going to present a webcast called Altitude of Involvement. It’ll be a relatively short presentation to leave room for you to ask lots of questions. Over 100 people registered in the first few hours. If you haven’t already, you can do so here:
The concepts I’m going to be illustrating are relatively recent insights. I’d love your help polishing off the rough edges by asking about anything and everything that I fail to make clear.
Can you do me a solid?
Speaking of help, it’d be very useful to know what your first job in the software business was. It’s fine if was a full time sysadmin job at a big company, a freelance gig building a Wordpress site for your local pizza place, or whatever else...
As long as the job was software related and you got paid for it, it qualifies as useful input. I’m looking for any or all of the following:
- Job title (e.g., data entry associate, webmaster, creative execution)
- Nature of the relationship (e.g., full time job, freelance gig)
- Brief job description (e.g., “I automated the creation of QuarkXPress files with FileMaker Pro and AppleScript for an internal advertising agency at a Fortune 50 retailer.”)
Thanks in advance, and I look forward to chatting with you live at the event tomorrow!
Yours,
—J
P.S. Yes, the webcast will be recorded and available later but obvs you have to show up live to get your questions answered :-)
P.P.S. Please feel free to share the registration link with your friends and colleagues.
