Toolbox
These all have plenty of competitors, but here are the ones that I use:
- aText - Text expander app
- BuiltWith - Search for sites that use certain technologies
- Calendly - Hassle-free scheduling
- Crowdcast - Simple and powerful webinar platform
- Drip - Email marketing automation
- Dropshare - Super flexible file sharing that uses my S3 bucket as backend
- Email Hunter - Find people’s email addresses
- Inbox Pause - Turn off Gmail notifications globally across all devices
- iOS Notes - I use specifically for writing daily emails when I’m on iOS (unfortunately, Drip stinks on iOS)
- Google Docs - I use specifically for proposal and sales page teardowns
- Google Keep - I use specifically to store photos of my physical notes and other paperwork
- Google Sheets - I use specifically to calculate annual revenue projections
- Moonclerk - One-off and recurring billing for services
- MeetEdgar - Social media scheduling tool
- NerdyData - Search for sites that use certain technologies
- Pushover - iOS app that makes cash register sound when I sell a book :)
- Quickmail - Automated follow-ups for outreach campaigns
- Remarq - Convert simple markdown docs into great looking documents or books
- Remember The Milk - Excellent cross-platform to-do list app
- Screenflow - Powerful video capture and editing software
- Sendowl - Sell digital goods
- Simplecast - Simple and affordable podcast hosting
- StreakCRM - CRM in your Gmail (I don’t use a CRM but lots of friends recommend Streak highly)
- Sublime Text - Simple but powerful text editor
- Typeform - I use specifically for student applications and audience surveys
- Zapier - Glue between various other services (e.g., Sendowl + Drip, Typeform + SMS)
- Zoom - Audio and video conference software (great for quick and dirty podcast recording)
(I tried to limit this list to stuff that’s not obvious, or that I use in a non-obvious way. Like many people, I also use AWS, Bitly, Digital Ocean, Github, Gmail, Google Calendar, LinkedIn, Slack, Squarespace, Trello, Twitter, etc in the usual fashion.)
