Mitski at the Hollywood Bowl
Tonight, I booked a birthday trip for my 10-year-old daughter and me to attend a performance by her favorite musical artist.
The tickets and airfare and everything clocked in at about $2500.
For us, this is a pretty extravagant birthday present, BUT...
When I told her, her eyes lit up, and she started sobbing so hard that she almost threw up.
(I’m totally not kidding... she had to run to the kitchen sink. It was intense)
Anyway, once the retching subsided...
Lots of epic hugs were received :-)
And guess what that means?
It means that no matter how good or bad the performance is, I already got what I paid for.
Here’s the thing...
There are a lot of takeaways from this. Here are three:
- Your end user and your buyer are not always the same people
- Your buyer probably cares about something very different from your end user
- Your buyers all want the same thing, and that thing is... a good feeling (and the more intense, the better)
Yours,
