“I now have a marketing asset for life”

Longtime list member, podcaster, and 5-Day Podcast Challenge alum Vikram Shetty wrote in to share his experience with podcasting (shared with permission):

Hi Jonathan,

I know you have a standard email series before launching the 5-day podcast.

Suppose you are in a mood to mix things up. Here is your next testimonial email before the launch.

I have been a big fan of the 5-day Podcast challenge because it was one of my best investments in return on investment.

Disclaimer: I had a podcast before, but it was random, and I didn’t have episodes to release for weeks. I didn’t know how to approach and get guests into my podcast.

Now I have more than a 70% close rate. Do you know what’s even better? People contact me to be a guest on my podcast with a topic they would like to discuss.

It takes me under 90 minutes to do the following:

Record the episode (30-40 minutes)
Edit the episode
Add title and show notes
Add Cover image
Put promotion links in show notes

This is what the course taught me; now, I have a marketing asset for life. The consistency in my publishing is not unnoticed by my clients, community and colleagues. I have not missed a single week since I completed the workshop and in next 6 episodes I will complete 53 weeks in a row that's 1 whole year.

I have so much confidence that I can approach any luminaries in my target audience and request them to be a guest on my podcast; imagine the leverage it will give me when I reach 100 episodes with thousands of downloads.

Bonus: Using the 30-minute episode audio file, I create 95 pieces of content across LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp statuses per week.
