How do I get more followers?

Here’s a thought exercise for anyone who wants more followers...

Start by getting clear in your own head about WHY you want followers in the first place.

• Do you want followers so you can sell stuff to them?
• Do you want followers so you can sell their eyeballs to the highest bidder?
• Do you want followers to improve your social standing?

Or...

• Do you want followers because the mission you’re on can’t be accomplished by just one person?
• Do you want followers because you have a vision of a better life for them that you want to help them reach?
• Do you want followers because that’s the best way for your work to continue to create value after you’re gone?

Here’s the thing...

Whatever your reason, the best way to attract followers is to lead.

Having followers isn’t what makes you a leader, being a leader is what attracts followers.

So if you want followers, you need to be a leader first.

It’s simple but not easy.
