Proof that writing is worthless?

My eight year old is currently obsessed with the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid book series.

She put two “Wimpy Kid” items on her Christmas list.

The first was...

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth

And the second was...

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Blank Journal

The Ugly Truth is the fifth novel in The Wimpy Kid series. It’s 225 pages long with a detailed (if juvenile) plot.

The Blank Journal is... well, a blank journal. It’s an empty notebook with a Wimpy Kid cover.

Here’s the thing...

The hardcover edition of The Ugly Truth is $8.17

The hardcover edition of The Blank Journal is $11.49

Is this proof that writing is less than worthless?

Why would someone pay more for a blank notebook than they would for a 200+ page novel?

If you have thoughts, hit reply...
