Heavier Food Tastes Worse

Guess what happens when a global system is predicated on the notion of selling vegetables by weight?

The producers try to make their vegetables as heavy as possible without increasing their costs.

Basically no one tries to make their food more delicious because there’s little financial incentive to do so.

This results in bland watery vegetables that are huge but deliver little joy to anyone who eats them.

Yuck.

Now...

Guess what happens when a global system is predicated on the notion of selling services by the hour?

The service providers try to bill as many hours as possible without alienating their clients.

Basically no one tries to deliver better results faster because there’s little financial incentive to do so.

This results in long arduous projects that involve lots of labor but deliver little profit to anyone involved.

Also yuck.

Yours,

—J
