Who are your top three?
When you think of companies who invest in marketing and innovation, which ones come to mind?
I’ll share my list shortly, but first maybe take a sec to come up with a list of your top three...
. . . . .
. . . .
. . .
. .
.
Off the top of my head, here’s my list:
- Google (i.e., Alphabet)
- Amazon
- Apple
(I also thought of extremely innovative companies started by Elon Musk, Dean Kaman, and others but IMHO they don’t invest much in marketing so I left them off the list)
A bit of Google searching reveals that these three companies each spend billions on BOTH marketing AND innovation every year.
Which raises the question:
Do they invest in marketing and innovation because they have so much money OR do they have so much money because they invest in marketing and innovation?
I’d put my money on the latter.
Marketing and innovation are the two basic functions of a business enterprise. Are you investing in at least one of these functions regularly?
