Podcast roundup

Sent by Jonathan Stark on December 30th, 2019

Today is a Monday, which would normally mean that you’d be receiving a message from me about the latest episode of The Business of Authority.

However, Rochelle and I are on our annual two week holiday break so I thought I’d point you at some other things that you might enjoy listening to…

Ditching Hourly—In case you didn’t know, I also do a solo podcast about the insanity of trading time for money. There are about 175 episodes for you to listen to, so if you’re not sure where to start, check out my interview with Blair Enns about Pricing Creativity.

2Bobs—Speaking of Blair Enns, you might really like the show he does with David C. Baker about the art of creative entrepreneurship. They are both funny and brilliant, so you can’t really go wrong.

The Futur—Chris Do and his team have an amazing podcast (and YouTube channel) devoted to helping a billion people make a living doing what they love. It’s a bold mission and amazing content, especially if you’re in the design space.

StoryBrand—Don Miller wrote an excellent marketing book called Building A Story Brand that is focused on clarifying your messaging through the framework of classic story structure. There’s a lot to like in the StoryBrand approach, and Don and cohost JJ Peterson do a fabulous job interviewing big guests about the importance of clarity in spreading your message.

Akimbo—Seth Godin is a marketing legend who has accomplished so many things that it would be silly to try to list them here. I’ve been following him closely for many years and of everything he’s produced in the course of his career, I think his podcast Akimbo is the most entertaining, accessible, and flat out useful.

MBMBaM—My Brother My Brother and Me (aka MBMBaM) is a comedy podcast (not work related, nor work safe) in which three hilarious brothers spoof the “advice show” format for 60 minutes each week. The show is cheerful, light, and often sidesplittingly funny. I legitimately look forward to each new episode and listen as soon as they’re posted. It’s a riot.

Enjoy!

TBOA will be back on Monday January 6, 2020 with an episode in which Rochelle and I chat with Olympic Gold Medalist, performance coach, and winner of our 5in5 challenge, Joe Jacobi.

Stay tuned!

Yours,

—J
