Zero vs Infinity

You can choose to look at business as a zero-sum game where there are winners and losers. Like a football game or a soccer match or a marathon.

If you do this, you will find yourself incentivized to behave in particular ways. You will find that you view your clients in a particular way. You will find that your emotional state is affected by this mindset.

Or, you can choose to look at business as an infinite game where the point of the game is to keep playing. Like Frisbee or catch or hacky sack.

If you do this, you will find yourself incentivized to behave in particular ways. You will find that you view your clients in a particular way. You will find that your emotional state is affected by this mindset.

Both approaches (zero-sum or infinite) can lead to a thriving business. But your day-to-day experience will be very different depending on which you chose.
