Pick your battles
From world wars to “spaces vs tabs”, it seems like us humans are hardwired to fight.
What if fighting is a biological imperative, like breathing? The human equivalent of Newton’s “what goes up must come down”.
Maybe it’s true that humans are naturally predisposed to fight. I don’t know.
But even if we can’t suppress our will to fight, it seems to me that we can at least direct our energy toward things that are worth fighting for.
(Perhaps a beneficial side effect of doing so would be that we’d have less energy left over to bicker about issues of little consequence.)
Assuming we all have a limited amount of fight in us, what will you spend yours on?
Yours,
