Salary vs Profit

After going out on my own as a solo consultant, it took me an embarrassingly long of time to internalize the difference between:

1. The money I paid myself as an employee (i.e., my salary)
2. The money I made is the owner of the business (i.e., my profits)

Your salary is not your profit.

(And if you don’t have profit, your business is probably on thin ice.)
