Reframing Stage Fright (pt2)
Thanks to everyone who replied to my last message about reframing stage fright!
It seems that it was very useful (or at least interesting) to lots of folks, so if you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, I think it’ll be worth your time.
A few long-time friends of the list wrote in with additional info if you’d like to learn more about this topic:
- Olympic Gold Medalist and performance coach Joe Jacobi recommended this episode of Adam Grant’s podcast: How free solo climber Alex Honnold faces fear
- Speaking of Joe, fellow list member Alastair McDermott interviewed him on the subject of peak performance here: Performing at the Highest Level with Joe Jacobi
- Last but not least, Swizec Teller shared a link to the source paper referenced in the Amy Cuddy article from my last email. It looked a little dense at first glance, but I found it to be quite interesting and it has a treasure trove of references to related studies that look relevant to people like us: Get Excited: Reappraising Pre-Performance Anxiety as Excitement
Enjoy!
And thanks again for all the replies :-)
Yours,
—J
