Registration is open for the 5-Day Podcast Challenge

Sent by Jonathan Stark on May 8th, 2020

In April 2012, a good friend and I started a podcast. That show ran for 154 episodes. Then we pivoted and started a new show about a different subject. That show ran for 153 episodes.

Then I started a solo show (176 episodes and counting). And then a show with a different friend on yet another topic (130 episodes and counting).

I’ve also been a panelist on group shows, hosted talk shows, and been a guest on more than 100 podcasts hosted by other folks.

All told, I’ve personally produced or been directly involved in more than 800 podcast episodes in the last eight years. If my math is right, that works out to about 2 episodes per week on average, for the better part of a decade.

Podcasting has been really good to me. I’ve been doing it for a long time and I love it. If you’ve ever thought about starting a podcast but gave up because you were overwhelmed by the options, I invite you to join me this coming week for a 5-Day Podcasting Challenge.

WHO IS 5DPC FOR?

5DPC is for self-employed professionals who make money selling their expertise and don’t have a lot of time or energy for marketing their business. 5DPC might be for you if you would like to:

WHAT IS 5DPC?

5DPC is an interactive online workshop designed to take you from zero to podcast in just five days. You will work with me and a cohort of your peers through five lessons released daily:

By the time you’re done, you’ll have your show defined, your gear assembled, your podcast website up, and you’ll be sending out invites to potential guests.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Is five days enough time to start an amazing podcast? Nope, and that’s 100% on purpose. The only way to create an amazing podcast is to start podcasting and improve with practice. 5DPC is specifically designed to smash through any procrastination or perfectionist tendencies and actually get your show off the ground. If you can run a conference call, you can host a podcast.

WHERE DOES 5DPC TAKE PLACE?

5DPC takes place online in a private Slack room that has been structured and customized to maximize engagement with the material and the community. You can easily watch the lessons and participate in the discussion from anywhere using your phone, tablet, or laptop/desktop.

WHEN IS 5DPC?

The next session of 5DPC starts Monday, May 11th (only three days away). Don’t worry if you already have a bunch of commitments scheduled. There is no such thing as falling behind in 5DPC. The course is designed so that you can participate daily, but you don’t have to be there every day. Each weekday, I’ll publish a lesson. But if you prefer to go at your own pace, that’s completely fine too. The Slack will be open for a full month after the final day of the course.

HOW MUCH IS 5DPC?

There are podcasting courses available online from as high as $2,675 for podcast audio engineering training, all the way on down to free self-paced video courses on Udemy and the like.

5DPC is NOT a self-paced video course that you buy and have to go through on your own (if you ever get around to going through it at all). Rather, 5DPC is a group experience specifically designed to keep you engaged and accountable. Plus, I’ll be on hand all week to help you get unstuck and stay on track. The price for 5DPC is $245, which includes the following bonuses:

And yes, there’s a money-back guarantee.

If you find that 5DPC hasn’t met your expectations, simply drop me a note after you’ve participated in all the lessons and I’ll refund your entire tuition. I’ve run loads of peer-based workshops and have found that when students contribute, they get back far more than they put into it.

Sometimes life gets in the way. If you need to withdraw before you complete 5DPC, I’m happy to defer you to a future session at no cost. Just ask. To be fair to all, I don’t offer refunds for non-participation.

QUESTIONS?

If you still have questions, just hit reply and ask. I hope to see (and hear) you there!

Yours,

—J
