Success story from reader Frederick C. Buskey

Reader Frederick C. Buskey wrote in with a success story that I hope you’ll find inspiring (shared with permission, bold mine):

Jonathan, I was listening to your May 9 (2018 - still catching up with past episodes) podcast with Liston Witherill about serving v selling. I’ve also heard you and others talk about this in other pods and books. This was a game changer for me when I first came across it a couple months ago, but there is one additional benefit I haven’t heard people talk about. I went into a meeting today with a school superintendent with no solid idea of what he wanted (beyond “leadership development”). Because I wasn’t worried about selling anything, it was so easy to be hyper-focused on identifying his root problems. I wasn’t trying to translate his need into my “program,” I was just able to have the conversation. Another byproduct of this was that we identified an additional need he that hadn’t been on his radar, and now he wants two proposals, not just one. Just one more benefit of the serving mentality. As always, thanks for the great service you are providing. Cheers, Frederick

Congrats, Frederick! Thanks for sharing :-)
