Polar opposites

The day-to-day psychology of hourly billing and value pricing are polar opposites. 

When you are getting paid by the hour to execute a project, at the end of every hour of work you think, “Sweet! I just made money!”

When you got paid a fixed value-based amount to deliver a project outcome, at the end of every hour of work you think, “Crap! I just lost money!”

Which of these two opposite reactions do you think would make you more efficient, more effective, and able to deliver better outcomes faster?
