“How to I get myself out of the day-to-day minutia of project work?” and more...
In today’s group coaching session, we had a bunch of good questions that touched on topics like:
- How to price a productized service
- How to get a useful case study when the project went over budget
- How to get yourself out of the day-to-day of project work that your teams are executing
Plus, we did a deep dive on beta testing productized services.
Good stuff!
Here are some of the questions I answered today:
I am about to complete an hourly based project. It, shockingly, went about 15% over the estimate. The client is happy with the results, but not that the cost was higher than estimated. I’m writing a case study for the project and was wondering if you have any recommendations on presenting a case study where everything isn’t a win? (timestamp: 1m 9s)
I’m getting ready to launch a new productized service, any general advice on how to price it? I’ve primarily done the work in the past as an FTE, so I’m a bit uncertain on pricing. (timestamp: 15m 20s)
I’ve built a team around me where we can execute on 3-4 big projects at a time. These projects typically last 3-6 months as they are fairly big. My issue is that I’m still very much in the center of it all. I don’t have revenues to support the hiring of talent to replace me yet. How do I bridge growth? (timestamp: 34m 24s)
