Q3: Consider this scenario:

Your softball team just lost a tough game on the hottest day of the summer, you’re all still in your dirty uniforms, and everyone wants to grab a beer before heading home.

Which restaurant is the best?

  1. McDonalds
  2. Chilis

If you’re like me, you picked a different restaurant as the answer to each question.

There word “best” is a trap. It’s crawling with unstated assumptions. It’s too absolute for the messy reality of the real world.

The answer to “Which is the best?” is virtually always “It depends,” followed by, “What’s your situation?”

This is why it’s so useful to offer options in your custom project proposals and options on your product ladder.

Different situations call for different solutions.
