Sharing your expertise for fun and profit
Sent by Jonathan Stark on November 18th, 2016
Once you have defined your positioning (but not before!) it’s time to start getting the word out about your expertise.
How do you do this?
Publish.
I don’t mean “publish” in the traditional academic sense. I mean publish like this:
Freely share your expertise with the world.
When you consider both traditional and “new media” publishing channels, there is a seemingly limitless number of options:
- Guesting on podcasts
- Hosting a podcast
- Hosting webinars
- Speaking at meetups
- Speaking at conferences
- Publishing a white paper
- Publishing an email course
- Blogging on your own website
- Guest blogging on other sites
- Contributing to open source
- Starting an open source project
- Etc...
Pick one or two of the channels that you’re most comfortable with and start sharing your expertise.
Don’t hold back. Be amazing. Blow minds. Really help people.
In exchange, you will ask for exactly one thing:
Their email address.
That’s all for now, gotta run... prepping to host 31 people for Thanksgiving next week. ACK! Wish us luck :-)
More tomorrow!
Yours,
—J
