The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
(IYKYK)
Last weekend, we spent a decent chunk of our Saturday buying back-to-school supplies for the kiddos.
Which can only mean one thing...
Fall is right around the corner!
Generally speaking, Summer is a slow period for landing new business.
It’s hot. Clients leave the office early. They take long weekends. They go on vacation.
So it’s difficult to get enough sweaty decision-makers in the room to approve anything new.
This all changes in September.
In September, everyone punches back in and realizes that the holidays are right around the corner, which means that they only have about 100 days to make progress on their big initiatives before everything shuts down again for the holidays.
In preparation for the upcoming busy season, I’ve been having a ball creating new offers specifically designed to help you make the most of the next few months:
- Private Pricing Sprint—Two weeks of private help changing how you price custom work, using one or two real opportunities as the material.
- Proposal Pricing Session—Fast, private help with one live proposal, pricing decision, or negotiation. One 90-minute Zoom call, clear recommendations, and written action notes.
- Soloist Growth Workshop Series—Six live 90-minute Zoom workshops covering pricing, positioning, publishing, sales conversations, proposals, and productized offers for soloists.
As an experiment, I even created a “lite” version of Backchannel specifically for Fall 2026. Not sure how long I’ll keep it around at the new price, but let’s see what happens :-)
On your mark... GET SET...
We still have about a month before the 100-day sprint kicks off, so now is the perfect time to prepare yourself to hit the ground running.
If business has been flat, it’s not too late to change your trajectory for the year.
Questions? As always, just hit reply and ask :-)
Yours,
—J
P.S. My gut is telling me that this Fall is going to be a big one business-wise, partially because of 1. the US midterm elections, and 2. AI crossing the peak of inflated expectations with business buyers. Even if I’m wrong, the Fall is always better for new business than the Summer. It’s just a question of how much.
