Bigger Than Mobile
A couple of weeks ago, I had my mind blown by Codex when I asked it to create a little Slack Export viewer for me.
And a few days later, it blew my mind even harder when I asked it to code a natural-language search interface for the 3,000+ messages I’ve sent to my daily list.
Then, I played with Claude Code for a day or so, during which time it refactored a bunch of kludgy junk in the backend of my site that had bugged me for years.
This was an even more shocking experience than I had with Codex.
Mind blown again!
And then, almost simultaneously, two of my coaching students suggested I get OpenClaw running and give it a spin...
You know that scene at the end of Raiders where they open the arc and the bad guys’ faces melt off?
That was me when I got OpenClaw working.
I’ve barely slept since.
Here’s the thing...
In the early days of ChatGPT, I remember saying something like:
“This AI wave feels like mobile did.”
What I meant by this was that I felt like ChatGPT and friends were going to have as big an effect on culture and society as mobile did.
But I was wrong.
Having now experienced an autonomous AI agent (i.e., OpenClaw), I predict AI will have a MUCH BIGGER effect on the world than mobile did.
Love it or hate it, you might want to at least get familiar with what’s possible.
Yours,
