How The Parts Fit

Fellow list member and Wardly Mapping guru, Ben Mosior replied to a recent message about my failed attempt to master music by dissecting it with the following gem (shared with permission):

Russ Ackoff would agree: The interaction of the parts in a whole, not the parts taken separately. (1m vid attached)

Ackoff’s point resonates very strongly with me, maybe even more so because his example is from such a radically different domain than music.

(I sense an Ackoff rabbithole is in my near future... any fans here on the list have a good starting point?)
