But won’t AI get much more expensive?

Long-time list member FV sent in a follow-up question to my recent message, What AI products are you using these days?

In that message, I shared a pretty long list of the AI tools I am currently using.

FV asked:

Since the major actors are building mountains of debt and not making any serious money, would there not come a time when they will up their subscriptions tremendously?

Maybe!

Or maybe there will be a race to the bottom as open-weight players catch up.

In the meantime, I’m using AI to build stuff.

Mostly things that don’t depend on AI to run.

(And nothing where I depend on it to be the expert.)
