Anniversary AMA Livestream
Round about 2014 or 2015, Nick DiSabato (aka @nickd) invited me to join a Slack mastermind he was starting with about 10 other folks.
The name of the room was “Productized Consulting Roundtable”. It was mostly solo consultants and creators, plus a couple of small firm owners and co-owners.
I had never been part of a group like this and was intrigued, so I accepted Nick’s invitation. Looking back, that was definitely the right choice.
Lots of really cool stuff came out of the “PCR Mafia” - as we came to be known - but the one I want to mention today is Hourly Billing Is Nuts.
Back in 2016, I had been dragging my feet on writing HBIN. Having a bunch of other business owners busting my chops about procrastinating really helped me ship the first version. I might never have done it without them.
I even have PCR to thank for the book title. One of the other members (Kurt Elster or Kai Davis, I think?) convinced me that Hourly Billing Is Nuts was the best title option I was considering, and hoo boy did that ever turn out to be excellent advice.
I also have PCR member Philip Morgan to thank for dragging me kicking and screaming into starting a daily email. In fact, he made me do it to promote the launch of HBIN, which is why both the book and the daily mailing list are turning ten at the same time.
Anyhoo...
To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of both HBIN and this mailing list, I’m going to host a free AMA tomorrow at 3pm ET on Zoom.
No topic is out of bounds:
Pricing, positioning, publishing, sales, marketing, negotiation, speaking, podcasting, writing, productivity, habits, music, karate, woodworking, homeschooling... you name it!
