Can you value price a productized service?
Technically, you CAN set a value-based price for a productized service, BUT...
- It’s typically not worth the effort
- It misses the point of having a productized service in the first place
The primary benefit of having a productized service is that it significantly reduces the sales expertise and effort required to close a deal.
In other words, if you stink at sales and have no desire to get better at it, productized services might be a good fit for you.
Here’s the thing...
If you’re going to have a sales call with each client anyway, you can almost certainly make more money by offering value-priced custom projects - even if those “custom projects” are very similar to each other and highly repeatable.
