It’s a puzzle...

Why would anyone buy a jigsaw puzzle?

I mean seriously... They are time-consuming, pointless, and expensive.

Or are they?

Here’s the thing...

If Bob gladly trades his hard-earned money for a jigsaw puzzle, I can guarantee you that he’s getting something out of the purchase.

Just because you don’t know what he’s getting out of it doesn’t change the fact that he is almost certainly realizing a positive ROI.

You could call his purchase irrational, or you could assume that he is getting some value out of it that you wouldn’t. I’d bet on the latter.

Value is subjective. When someone exhibits buying behavior that seems crazy to you, it doesn’t mean that they’re crazy... it means that they value something that you don’t.
