Can AI take your job?

Whether or not ”AI can take your job” depends on a few factors.

The first question is this:

“Can an AI sales guy convince your boss that AI can do your job?”

If so, then you might be in trouble (even though AI almost certainly can’t do your job better than you).

But you probably work for yourself and don’t have a boss, so this first question is moot.

The second question is this:

“Do you actually know what your clients are buying from you?”

Lots of people don’t realize that what they think they are selling isn’t what their clients are actually buying.

If you think you sell code or features or white papers or logos or ad creative or some other artifact of your craft, then I can understand why you’d be worried about AI taking your job.

But your clients aren’t buying artifacts.

They’re buying expertise.

Things like trust, judgment, taste, risk reduction, peace of mind, connection, understanding, etc.

They can’t get any of that from AI.
