Reader feedback re Three Ways to Grow Your Network

Longtime friend and fellow D&D party member Kieran MacMillan replied to my last message with the following (shared with permission, bold mine):

Hey JS,

SO funny that you mailed this out today, because I was literally going to email you yesterday to tell you this story:

Yesterday, in my Advanced Musicianship class, one of the students asked me “Can you talk to us about networking? What is it, and how do we do it?”. And after a little consideration, I said roughly the following:

“Most people will tell you that networking is the process of convincing people that they want to work with you. I’m telling you right now that your whole career and life will go better if you think of networking as the process of you figuring out which people you want to work with.”

A lot of discussion ensued, but that was definitely the TL;DR version. :)
