Reader feedback re LOVE/HATE List
Fellow list member and fractional CTO to early-stage founders Allan Edmond wrote in to share his reaction to my LOVE/HATE list email (shared with permission):
Before I had 1 reminder list, called Reminders. After following JS for 4 months, I now have:
- 1 daily list
- 1 weekly list
- 1 monthly list
- 1 today list
- 1 newsletter ideas list
- (now) 1 love/hate list
It’s actually difficult to come up with the first items without falling into generic nonsense, but setting up the habit/reflex of recognizing something I don’t like and adding it to the list will be very fruitful
Oh and I have to add “Review the love/hate list” in the monthly list 😅
Thanks Jonathan!
PS: I am genuinely grateful for these lists. The mental load relief from offloading “responsibilities” to a tool is real and underrated.

Great feedback! Thanks to Allan for sharing.
IMHO the key quote is the last line:
The mental load relief from offloading “responsibilities” to a tool is real and underrated
Yes, exactly!
If you feel like you spend your days swatting at a cloud of bees swarming around your head, offloading to a system is the fix.
