Don’t copy the wrong thing
Let’s say you want to become a great scientist.
Maybe your heroes are people like Einstein or Curie or Darwin.
It’s probably smart to emulate them, but make sure you don’t accidentally copy the wrong thing.
For example:
- Don’t copy the crazy hair
- Don’t copy the lace collar
- Don’t copy the long beard
What should you copy instead?
- Copy the method
- Copy the determination
- Copy the focus
It can be tempting to copy the obvious, visible stuff.
But it’s probably more effective to copy the invisible, non-obvious stuff.
