Teleconferences
Take your business to the next level.
Web professionals and software developers work constantly to improve their programming and design skills. Unfortunately, they usually don't apply the same creativity and enthusiasm to improving their business.
What are you doing to make your business better? The 2010 teleconference series is chock full of content that you can use to turbocharge your practice.
How does it work?
Teleconferences are held the first Friday of every month, from noon to 1pm Eastern US time. Each call begins with a 20-40 minute presentation, followed by Q&A.
Free downloads and recordings of every session are included in the price. You can register for sessions individually, or purchase access to the entire series at a steep discount.
2010 Schedule
March 5: Define Your Business
These days it's almost impossible to over-specialize. In this session, I'll talk about defining your business, refining your message, and explain how specialized expertise attracts more buyers than being a jack-of-all-trades.
April 2: Broadcast Your Expertise
Cold calls don't work in this business; you need to have clients come to you. I'll explain why and give you 5 ways to attract buyers by broadcasting your expertise. Best of all, they're all free.
May 7: Public Speaking
Speaking in public is an excellent way to attract new clients, refine your message, and even make some money. Unfortunately, many people are petrified by the notion of standing up in front of an audience. In this session, I'll explore how passion, preparation, and practice can drastically improve your presentation skills.
June 4: Writing Books
There is no better way to establish yourself as an expert than to write a good old fashioned book. I'll share my tips and tricks for creating a book proposal, finding a publisher, and managing the writing process.
July 2: The Sales Process
Most consultants waste the sales process defining the "what" of a project rather than the "why." This approach results in a low-value, commodity sale. Using specific examples, I'll illustrate how to build a peer relationship with the buyer that will result in a much higher perceived value for the project.
August 6: Writing Great Proposals
If you've handled the sales process properly, the proposal should be a formality. That said, there is still plenty of room to shoot yourself in the foot. I'll show you how to write brief but powerful proposals that will make your life simpler and increase your fees.
September 3: Value Pricing
Are you sick of tracking your time and sending weekly invoices? Would you like to increase your income while reducing administrative overhead? Do your clients see you as a glorified pixel pusher? I'll explain the risks and rewards of an alternative to hourly billing called Value Pricing that addresses these issues and more.
October 1: Alternative Income Streams
Will you ever be able to retire from project work? I'll give you 4 suggestions to turn your expertise into passive income and recurring revenue.
November 5: Free For All
A no-holds-barred Q&A for the entire hour. We might go over time on this one, so plan accordingly.
December 3: Predictions for 2011
Between the sluggish economy and rapidly advancing technology, 2010 is shaping up to be a roller coaster year. I'll make some predictions and identify growth opportunities for 2011.
