Migration
Converting a FileMaker solution from version 4, 5, or 6 to the most recent version can be tricky business.
If your application is mission critical to your business, it makes sense to hire someone with the experience it takes to ensure a smooth transition. I will review your current system, outline a migration strategy, and give you a fixed price for the job in advance. If you decide to proceed, I will analyze and prepare the old files in the live system and then perform a series of test conversions. A bug tracking system will be put in place for your employees to report any issues with the old or new files.
Once you are happy with the performance of the new files, a final conversion will be performed (typically overnight or on a weekend) and the new files will become the live production system. At all times, a rollback procedure will be in place to ensure that costly production interruptions are avoided.
